Las Animas County is a county in the State of Colorado of the United States. The county's population was 15,207 at the 2000 census. The county seat is Trinidad.
History
Las Animas County takes its name from the Spanish language name of the Anímas River, Río de las Ánimas Perdidas, which means "River of the Lost Souls".
